The beef behind the brand
A better beef experience starts here.
At Ten-Eight Cattle Company, we offer Akaushi and Angus beef, broken down into three categories: Akaushi F1, Akaushi F2, and Angus. We connect families directly with our cattle program, making it easier to know where their beef comes from and plan for the meals ahead.
From steaks for a special evening to ground beef for a busy weeknight, buying a beef share brings more of the animal to your table.
Three beef options. One direct connection to Ten-Eight. Explore each below.

Three options. One Ten-Eight brand.
01 · The first cross
Akaushi F1
Akaushi F1 combines Akaushi and Angus genetics. A fullblood Akaushi parent crossed with an Angus parent produces offspring with 50% Akaushi and 50% Angus ancestry.
This first cross brings Akaushi influence together with the familiar Angus beef tradition. It's an introduction to Akaushi-cross beef for steaks, roasts, ground beef, and more.

02 · Increased Akaushi influence
Akaushi F2
4 available
In the common Akaushi backcross program, breeding an F1 Akaushi–Angus animal back to fullblood Akaushi produces 75% Akaushi and 25% Angus ancestry, commonly marketed as F2.
This increases Akaushi influence. Akaushi genetics are valued for marbling and eating quality; actual marbling and tenderness vary by animal, finishing, cut, and preparation.
Angus beef is its own offering at Ten-Eight, separate from our Akaushi crosses. Angus is a cattle breed with Scottish roots and a longstanding place in American beef production.
Angus cattle are valued for beef quality and marbling potential. Choose Angus for familiar favorites, from a steak on the grill to burgers and Sunday roasts.
Listed rates are per pound of hanging weight and include processing. Breed describes ancestry, not a guaranteed grade. Individual cattle and cuts vary.

How does hanging-weight pricing work?
Hanging weight is the carcass weight before it is cut and packaged. If your quote uses hanging weight, the beef charge is that weight multiplied by the quoted price per pound. Your packaged take-home weight will be lower. Processing is included. Akaushi F2: whole $13/lb, half $13.50/lb, quarter $14/lb. Angus: whole $10/lb, half $10.50/lb, quarter $11/lb. Akaushi F1 is currently sold out. For example, a 490 lb F2 half × $13.50/lb = $6,615; an Angus half of the same weight × $10.50/lb = $5,145. Actual hanging weight determines the final total.
What cuts come in a beef share?
A share can include steaks, roasts, ground beef, and other cuts. The exact assortment depends on share size, the animal, and processor selections. Ask us for the cut options for your order; individual cut quantities are not guaranteed here.
How much freezer space will I need?
Freezer needs depend on the final packaged weight and packaging style. Tell us your planned share size and we'll discuss expected storage needs before you order.
Can I buy Akaushi or Angus beef right now?
